Dr. Vishakha Vijay Sakhare

Bio

Dr. Vishakha V. Sakhare is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at MIT World Peace University, Pune, starting from August 2022. She graduated from the University of Amravati, India, with a degree in Civil Engineering in 2010. She holds a post-graduation degree (2012) and a Ph.D. (2016) in Construction Technology & Management from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, India. Her research interests include green building, indoor environment, use of agro-industrial residues for construction materials, geo polymeric building materials, 3D printing.

Dr. Sakhare has over 7 years of teaching and research experience. She has worked as an Assistant Professor at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani Campus, and Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai. She has also worked as a Senior Research Fellow at Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC), Nagpur, Maharashtra, and a Senior Engineer at Energetic Consulting Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai.

Dr. Sakhare has an impressive research record with 1 granted Indian patent, 3 international book chapters, 25 international journal publications (Scopus/SCI), and 15 papers published in international and national conferences. She has completed a research initiation grant, funded by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. She has also been awarded prestigious fellowships, including the Building Energy Efficiency Higher & Advanced Network (BHAVAN) Fellowship Program (2018), supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, and the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF), CSIR foreign travel grant, and first prize for her model in “Colloquium on green building concepts”, a competition which intended to stimulate the minds of students.

Dr. Sakhare has actively reviewed several research papers in journals such as Construction & Building Materials, Elsevier; Resources, Conservation & Recycling, Elsevier; Sustainable Cities and Societies, Elsevier; Indoor and Built Environment, SAGE; Technical Sciences, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (Poland). She is also actively involved in the Geopolymer-based project funded by the Ministry of Mines and the Fast Track Project sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
