MIT TBI
Overview
MIT-WPU Technology Business Incubator (TBI) serves as the official innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem of MIT World Peace University. Established in 2016, MIT TBI is endorsed by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, with the mission to nurture technology business incubation initiatives across the nation.
Our focus extends to supporting early-stage entrepreneurs, including students, as well as experienced startups. We provide vital assistance in the form of funding, mentoring, and networking opportunities. Recognised as a Technology Business Incubator by the Government of India, MIT TBI operates with the support of the Department of Science and Technology.
Located within the MIT World Peace University campus in Pune's Kothrud area, MIT TBI boasts 11,000 square feet of dedicated space, specifically designed to empower entrepreneurs and innovators. This facility encompasses co-working office spaces and a rapid prototyping lab, tailored to incubate startups companies founded by students. Notably, MIT-WPU students and alumni enjoy a one-year waiver on office rent.
MIT TBI is committed to exploring various funding and prototyping grant programmes. Currently, we are actively providing grants and seed funding to select startups under the Startups India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS). For additional details, please visit our Funding page.

Our support to entrepreneurs and innovators
Physical incubation
Physical incubation for product and service-based startup companies. We offer office and cubicle spaces inside a dedicated facility and access to labs and workshops.
Virtual incubation
Remote incubation support for service-based startup companies. Incubation support includes mentoring, fundraising, and access to all virtual services of MIT TBI.
Seed funding
Grant and soft loan to selected startups under the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme.
Rapid prototyping
Composite 3D printing for manufacturing carbon fibre parts, full-fledged designing and machining facility for commercial use.
Student innovation
Actively encourage current and recently graduated students of MIT-WPU and other institutes to take up entrepreneurship as a career choice.
Consultancy
Provide training and handholding support to other incubators in entrepreneurship development. We also undertake engineering consultancy projects in renewable energy, IoT, ITeS, etc.
