Rural Immersion
Rural immersion programmes by MIT-WPU are a unique, one-of-a-kind learning activity meticulously designed to sensitize the students to the lifestyle of the rural community and train them to apply their knowledge, modern technology and management concepts to find solutions to problems faced by the rural communities.
Students of each programme visit a village and understand the rural landscape, the community, and their culture.
They get to work on various projects like water storage and conservation, waste recycling, irrigation system optimization, water recycling, solar power utilization etc for improving the rural landscape.
These programmes are the perfect blend of hands-on, real-life learning experiences which hone the skills like critical thinking, community awareness, problem solving, sensitivity etc. Students develop a broader perspective and a deeper understanding of rural society and understand how their knowledge can lead to innovative solutions. The programmes indeed connect India with Bharat.
