FAQs

Petroleum Engineering involves finding and producing oil and gas. The B.Tech Petroleum Engineering focuses on drilling and extraction of energy sources along with managing the resources safely and efficiently.

Candidates must have completed 10+2 with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or Physics, Mathematics, and any technical vocational subject. An entrance exam is also required.

Yes, companies in the oil and gas sector often provide on-the-job training. They organise workshops specifically for fresh graduates to familiarise them with company-specific processes and requirements.

Both fields have high demand in the energy sector but cater to different aspects of the industry. Petroleum engineering focuses on the exploration and extraction of natural resources, while chemical engineering deals with processing and refining chemicals. The choice depends on whether you are more interested in the upstream or downstream aspects of the energy industry.

Preparing in advance not only enhances your understanding of the fundamentals of petroleum engineering but also gives you a competitive edge to build a solid foundation for the entrance exam. It boosts confidence and helps you manage your time effectively during the exam.
