With emphasis on the growing need of frontline research on safe, smart, and sustainable mobility, MIT-WPU in collaboration with ARAI offers cutting-edge Ph.D. Programmes in the field of automobile engineering addressing areas critical to the future of mobility. These collaborative programmes offer candidates the unique dual advantage of ARAI’s industry stewardship, state-of-the-art facilities, and expert mentoring, coupled with the academic niche of MIT-WPU in the field of engineering enabling an ecosystem that fosters world-class research outcomes.
ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India)
ARAI is a leading Research institute of the automotive industry under the administrative control of Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Government of India.
ARAI Academy, a skill development initiative of ARAI has an excellent Learning Centre, Training Centre, Knowledge Centre, and various laboratories. It has laboratories like Containerised engine test cell, Simulation lab, Computer Aided Engineering & Design (CAED) lab, Automotive Engineering Systems Lab, Noise and Vibration Lab, Automotive Electronics & Embedded Systems Lab, and Advanced Electronics lab (GTEM Cell).
MIT-WPU recognizes ARAI Academy Laboratory as Research Centre for research purposes for Ph.D. and offers the following Ph.D. programmes in collaboration with ARAI:
MIT-WPU, by virtue of being a University, shall award a Degree in the aforementioned programmes, in association with ARAI as per its statute and rules & regulations.

*Please note that all applications received on or after 1st December 2025 will be processed for admission to our Summer Ph.D commencement of July 2026.
