Bio

Dr. Darshan G. Gaidhankar is an Associate Professor in Civil Engineering at Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune. He has completed his B. E. Civil Engineering from Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur in the year 1999 and M. E. Civil-Structures from Government College of Engineering, Karad in the year 2004. He is working with MIT-WPU since 2002 and has taught various subjects including Applied Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Structural Analysis, Theory of Structures, Design of Steel Structures, Analysis and Design of Bridges, Plastic Analysis of Structures, Composite Structures, Precast Concrete Structures and Ferrocement Technology. His specific area of interest is Structural Engineering. He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in the area of Ferrocement Technology at SCOE Research Centre, Pune under the guidance of Dr. Mrudula S. Kulkarni. He was the PG Coordinator for Civil-Structures and Time-Table Coordinator of the department for more than 15 years. He is also working in the area of Earthquake Resistant Design of Structures as well. More than 28 students have completed master’s degree in engineering under his guidance. Till now he has published more than 28 technical research papers in reputed International Journals.
