My Dear Students and Parents,

Let me welcome you to the website of the School of Liberal Arts (SOLA), MIT-WPU, Pune. We, at SOLA, understand how critical a Liberal Arts education is in the development of well-rounded individuals.

The world around us is now witnessing changes in diverse fields. Our country is also making rapid strides and as youngsters, you can feel the energy. This is also a time to ponder over why is a liberal arts education so important?

Liberal Arts education exposes students to a wide variety of subjects, which help in the development of critical thinking, deep analytical abilities, a sense of social responsibility (like through our Rural Immersion programmes) which leads us to our ultimate objective—which is to see you develop as well-rounded individuals.

Pune, known as the “Oxford of the East”—is a cultural and educational hub, and has a young demographic profile. The city provides you with an unique opportunity to hone both your professional skills and at the same time enjoy its rich history and culture.

You may have read a quote attributed to Albert Einstein. “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Therein, lies the forte of SOLA. We provide individual attention to all our students as we believe that all of you have unique skills and abilities and that each one of you is special.
