Bio

"Dr. Shilpa Shirish Paygude is a seasoned academician and researcher with 29 years of experience at MIT. She completed her BE, ME, and PhD from CoEP, and specializes in the areas of computer vision, image and video processing. Her research work has been published in various renowned journals and conferences, including the International Journal of Reasoning-based Intelligent Systems, Archives of Computational Methods in Engineering, and the IEEE Xplore. Her research interests include dynamic texture segmentation, emotion classification on textual data, COVID-19 detection using convolutional neural networks, and plant disease detection and fertilizer suggestion.

She has authored and co-authored several research papers, including “Unified dynamic texture segmentation system based on local and global spatiotemporal techniques”, “Dynamic texture segmentation approaches for natural and manmade cases: survey and experimentation”, “Study and Analysis of Emotion Classification on Textual Data”, “COVID-19 Detection Using Convolutional Neural Networks and InceptionV3”, and “Plant Disease Detection and Fertilizer Suggestion”. Her research publications have been well-received and have high impact factors.

Dr. Paygude's contribution to the academic field has been recognized through her many achievements, including being a recognized Ph.D. guide in computer engineering and a member of the Board of Studies for Computer Engineering and Information Technology. She has also received a Best Teacher award by MIT, Pune in recognition of her dedication to teaching. Her work has been cited by several researchers and scholars in the field.
