Bio

Dr. Kanchan V. Shende has completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. She worked on “Ocean-Atmospheric Interaction Process over Bay of Bengal during Indian Winter Monsoon season”. She has experience in handling various oceanographic and meteorological data for atmospheric studies using various scientific tools such as Ferret, GRADS, CDO (Climate Data operator), GMT (Generic Mapping Tool) and MATLAB. She also completed M.Phil. in Computer Science and M.Sc. in Information Technology from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. During M.Phil. she worked on “Crop Area Estimation from Satellite Images using GIS (Geographic Information System)”. She also has experience in handling satellite and GIS data using ENVI and QGIS. She received the UGC National fellowship for M.Phil. and Ph.D. She completed “Smart training on INSAT-3DR: Observations to Application [SIP-02B/2-17]” organized by Space Application Center, Indian Space Research Organization, Ahmedabad. She also completed a distance learning certification program on “Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System & Global Navigation Satellite System '' which is organized by National Natural Resources Management System (NNRMS), Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO. She published one research paper in National Journals, three research papers in International Journals, two papers presented in National Conferences and one paper presented in symposiums.
