Dr. Aavishkar Chittaranjan Katti - faculty At MIT-WPU, Pune

Bio

Dr. Aavishkar Katti obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and his Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Delhi. His doctoral research specialized in theoretical nonlinear optics, with a focus on optical solitons and photonic systems.

He has qualified several prestigious national-level examinations, including CSIR- NET (All India Rank 15), GATE, and SET (Gujarat), demonstrating strong academic excellence and foundational expertise in physics.

Dr. Katti has nearly a decade of teaching experience. He is currently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, Pune, and has previously taught at Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan. His teaching spans core physics courses alongwith specialized courses across the spectrum of optics and photonics.

He has secured competitive research funding from government agencies. As Principal Investigator, he was awarded a Core Research Grant from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB-DST), Government of India. He is also Co- Principal Investigator on an ongoing A2K+ Studies grant from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India, and served as Principal Investigator for an A2K+ Events grant supporting the organization of an international conference.

Dr. Katti has made significant scholarly contributions, with over 60 publications, including more than 35 journal articles in SCI and Scopus-indexed journals. He is the author of two research monographs published by Springer Nature: Optical Spatial Solitons in Photorefractive Materials and Bragg Fibers: From Optical Properties to Applications. In addition, he has edited five research volumes published by leading international publishers including Springer Nature, SPIE (USA), and Bentham Science (Singapore).

He serves on the Editorial Boards of several reputed international journals, including Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio), Discover Applied Sciences (Springer), Physics Open (Elsevier), and Jurnal Ilmu Fisika (Universitas Andalas). He has also served as Guest Editor for Interactions (Springer) and SPIE conference proceedings.

Dr. Katti has been actively involved in academic leadership and community building, having organized multiple international conferences as Convenor and Organizing Secretary, including ICCTPP-2022, ICCTPP-2024, RTEP 2024 conference supported by DSIR and RTEP-2026. He has supervised many students for their Master’s and Doctoral degrees till now. He has also contributed to academic administration through roles such as Ph.D. Coordinator, NAAC Criteria Coordinator, and Research Project Coordinator.
