Bio

Dr. Ramesh D. Dod is currently working as a Program Head of M. Tech Civil (Environment by Research) at MIT-WPU. He has a cumulative industry, teaching, and research experience of 28 years. He is also the Professor and Head of Civil Engineering at MIT- Savitribai Phule Pune University. He is a Ph.D. in Civil- Environmental Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU), Varanasi. His research interests are based on Environmental Impact Assessment, Climate Change, Green Buildings, Environmental Sustainability& Sustainable Development, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Environmental Audit, Air Pollution, Solid Waste Management, Bio-Medical Waste, and Indian Legislation on Environment Management. He is a member of, the Board of studies (B. O. S.) in Civil Engineering as well as the School of Ecology and Environmental Management. He is presently teaching postgraduate students and guiding their research projects. He is presently guiding 6 Research Scholars in Civil Engineering (Particulary Environmental Engineering and Pollution Control) at MIT-World Peace University and 1 Research scholar at Savitribai Phule Pune University. He has published more than 40 research papers in journals and conferences of National and International repute. He has also delivered keynote addresses/expert talks at various institutions like,

Dr. Ramesh D. Dod has worked in different committees at the central and state level including:

1. Expert Member Environmental Clearance Committee of the Government of India for the state of Maharashtra for recommending Environmental clearances to Industries, Mining, Irrigation, and other projects based on Environmental Impact Assessment Studies

2. Member, Expert Committee, Constituted by Govt. of Maharashtra for preparing a report on the Environmental Impact of Hill Cutting for Quarrying in Thane District, Maharashtra State.

3. Technical Member, of Review Committee, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board for Common Hazardous Waste Treatment Storage Disposal Facilities [CHWTSDF], Ranjangaon, Dist. Pune.

4. 4. Organized technical event on World Environment Day 5th June 2018 Jointly with TERRE Policy Centre, Pune, and Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune under Smart Campus Cloud Network program and presented Sustainability Report for MIT Group of Institutions Pune.

1. Recipient of National scholarship awarded by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, on account of qualifying Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 1991 & 2005) conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)

2. Awarded Senior Research Fellowship under University Grant Commission (UGC) scheme at Indian Institute of Technology-Banaras Hindu University, (IIT-BHU) Varanasi.

3. Recipient of the Best Teacher Award in the year 2011 from Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune.

4. Selected as a Student Researcher to work for a Master’ Dissertation at the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI-CSIR), Nagpur, a premier Research Institute in the field of Environmental Engineering, Government of India.
