Bio

Dr. Rehan Deshmukh is Assistant Professor at School of Biosciences and Technology. He received his Ph.D. from BITS Pilani University in 2020. Dr. Rehan was awarded the ICMR Senior Research Fellowship in the year 2018 to carry out his doctoral studies. His postdoctoral work at IIT Madras involved the development of optical assay for amplification-free detection of SARS-CoV-2 using fiber-optic U-bent probes. His research interests are electrochemical/optical biosensors for pathogens and disease diagnosis, nanoelectrchemical applications, surface modifications for sensor applications, NATs

.

He is serving as the reviewer for PLOS One, Natural Product Research (Springer Nature), Microbial Cell Factories, and SDRP Journal Food Science and Technology. He is currently editing a special issue ""Biosensors for detection of waterborne pathogens: Recent advances and Future horizons"" for Frontiers in Water Journal.
