My journey at the Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) remains one of the most defining phases of my life. I joined MIT in 1995 to pursue Mechanical Engineering, stepping away from home for the first time. The initial days were challenging, but the support of my professors and peers helped me adapt and grow in confidence.

MIT’s greatest strength lies in building a solid foundation in engineering fundamentals. It taught me that true engineering is about understanding concepts, not memorizing them. The emphasis on basics, analytical thinking, and problem-solving continues to guide me even today in my professional journey.

Beyond academics, MIT instilled discipline, responsibility, and a spirit of healthy competition. It shaped me into a confident engineer, ready to take on real-world challenges.

If I were to sum up MIT in one word, it would be “Confidence” — the confidence to learn, adapt, and succeed.

Every professional journey begins as raw potential, and for me, MIT-WPU’s Mechanical Engineering Department was the atelier where that raw clay began to take shape. The years spent here were instrumental in sculpting not just my technical foundation, but also my mindset—instilling discipline, structured thinking, and an enduring inclination toward problem-solving.

The institute’s strong emphasis on experiential learning—through laboratories, technical forums, and project-based engagement—enabled me to internalize engineering concepts beyond textbooks. Equally significant were the leadership opportunities and collaborative environments that nurtured my ability to think critically, work in teams, and pursue continuous improvement—traits that have remained central throughout my career.

As I transitioned into the professional world, these formative learnings became the chisels that refined my path. Starting from core quality and manufacturing roles, I progressively moved into domains of operational excellence, supply chain transformation, and digital manufacturing. Over time, this evolution enabled me to contribute to large-scale industrial transformation across global operations.

Currently, I serve as Business Excellence Head at Advik, leading strategic initiatives across India, Southeast Asia, and Europe. My role involves orchestrating enterprise-wide transformation through TPM, Lean, and Industry 4.0 frameworks—delivering multi-crore impact and embedding a culture of operational excellence across diverse manufacturing ecosystems.

This journey has been marked by sustained recognition, with 100+ national and international accolades across quality, productivity, and operational excellence platforms. Notable honors include the JIPM TPM Excellence and Consistency Awards in Japan, the Managing Director’s Award, and “The Great Indian Manufacturing Leader Award.” I was also privileged to be invited by the Prime Minister’s Office to contribute to the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Mission 2047, reflecting a broader acknowledgment of my contributions to the Industry-Institution synergy.

Beyond organizational impact, I actively contribute to the manufacturing ecosystem—serving as a jury member for national Kaizen competitions by ACMA, a life member of the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE), and an industry–academia synergy catalyst. My pursuit of continuous learning led me to complete Management Studies from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, further strengthening my strategic perspective.

From being shaped as a student to now shaping systems, teams, and large-scale transformations, the journey has come full circle. MIT-WPU played a defining role in this evolution, providing the foundation upon which this professional sculpture has been crafted.

To current students, my advice is simple: treat your time at the institute as the phase where you shape your core. Build strong fundamentals, embrace challenges, and continuously refine yourself—the world will value not just what you know, but how you think and evolve.

I take immense pride in being an alumnus of MIT-WPU, an institution that truly transforms potential into purpose.

I was the 1st student to be granted admission to the college in 1983 . The beginning was humble operating thor’ a makeshift premise and some very dynamic academicians like DR V D Karad ,late Prof V. Wartikar ,Prof Darade to name a few stalwarts. The environment created was extremely conducive to experiential learnings and sharings blended with ethinicity and simplicity.

Would definitely recommend this institution and would certainly like my children to be a part of this legacy in the near future

I came across some of the most amazing people at MIT. I made some amazing friends. My strict teachers have all become lifelong mentors.

MIT Pune is a great institution which has many experienced professors catering to the educational as well as other needs of any student for their overall development for the competitive life ahead. It has a variety of laboratories which allow the students to practically observe and test for the theory taught well in the classrooms. The institute also allows many co-curricular and extra-curricular activities such as organizing their technical festival TEXEPHYR and also has various teams like the SAEINDIA Collegiate branch of MIT, Pune, team BAJA, team SUPRA, which allow interaction with the outside world and make the students efficient at organizing events, making cars, etc thus allowing them to apply their knowledge and learn new abilities about handling people or sharpen their communicative skills. They also have MIT Cultural, the team which allows those having interests in drama, singing, dancing, plays, etc to pursue them and achieve great heights in the same while managing academics simultaneously.

My time at MIT has been the most memorable time of my life from 2007- 2011. We had great professors, who not only taught us well but also were very supportive. Along with academics, MIT gave us great learning opportunities through Technical, Sports and Cultural events. Exposure to such events ensured that students learned and grew in all spheres of life. I am grateful to MIT for the same and wish MIT and all students the very best!

I am what I am today because of MIT. It is one of the best institutions that provides knowledge. I was the first person who's second generation passed out from MIT my son and daughter have passed out. Likewise most of my friends from the first batch have their children passing out from MIT which is a great achievement by MIT. I am planning to have my grandchildren and their children to pass out from MIT I hope MIT will provide the admission to my grandchildren also because it is going to be one of the best institutions in the world and I am not sure whether they will be selected. I wish them ALL THE BEST FOR THE FUTURE.

“The strong fundamentals and a foundation for problem solving attitude that faculty at MIT College of Engineering (Kothrud, Pune) imbibed in me have been instrumental to my career. Thanks to the guidance and support from some of the best faculty at MIT, I was able to get admission for the masters program at India’s premier research institute, viz., Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. After doing cutting edge research at IISc, continuing for a Ph.D. seemed like a logical path, but it was the various stimulating discussions and career guidance from my professors at MIT that propelled me to proceed for the coveted doctoral program at IISc. Even though it has been more than 7 years since I graduated and left Pune, I am still in touch with the faculty at MIT, and that is the strongest testament of the impact that this institute has had in giving shape to a career for achieving my life goals.”
