Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) - A National Initiative

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, launched in partnership with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in 2018. This program is designed to systematically foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the country.

Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) at MIT World Peace University

At MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) plays a pivotal role in cultivating an ecosystem that encourages creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking. In alignment with the objectives of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), the IIC at MIT-WPU actively supports students in developing their innovative ideas into viable prototypes, research projects, and entrepreneurial ventures.

Functioning as an inclusive and collaborative platform, the IIC engages students from diverse academic backgrounds, providing opportunities to ideate, innovate, and co-create. A variety of programs—such as seminars, workshops, hackathons, and industry interaction sessions—are organized to nurture essential skills like design thinking, problem-solving, and business acumen. With dedicated faculty mentors and advisors, students receive the continuous guidance and encouragement needed to refine their concepts and translate them into impactful solutions.

The IIC’s mission is to empower students through experiential learning, promote leadership, and instil a mindset of experimentation and research-driven innovation. By bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, the council contributes significantly to both technological innovation and societal development.

Through close collaboration with MIT-WPU’s Innovation Hub and Technology Business Incubator (TBI), the IIC offers access to cutting-edge infrastructure, expert mentoring, seed funding, and networking opportunities. This strong support system enables both students and alumni to successfully launch and scale their ventures. Ultimately, the IIC at MIT-WPU is committed to fostering a proactive, entrepreneurial spirit that drives sustainable growth and transformative impact within and beyond the university.
