Bio

Dr. Mandar M. Lele is a distinguished academic scholar who earned his Ph.D. in 2006 from I.I.T. Bombay, Powai, Mumbai-76, India in the field of Mech. Engg. (Cryogenic Engineering). He completed his M.E. (Mech) with Power Engineering as Specialization in 1997 from Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, which is one of the leading institutes in India. He earned his B.E. (Mech) in 1992 from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, which is one of the most reputed institutes in India.

With over 28 years of experience in the field, Dr. Lele has guided 17 PG and 6 PhD students, with one student submitting a thesis, and more than 25 UG projects to his credit. He has published more than 75 papers and holds 4 patents.

Dr. Lele has been recognized for his outstanding contributions and awarded as a Fellow & Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, India (Membership No: F-1271411). He is also an ASHRAE member from 2006 onwards, a Life Member of ISHRAE, Indian Cryogenic Council, ISHMT, IIT Bombay Alumni Association, and ISTE.

Dr. Lele has served as a member of the Board of Studies, Mechanical Engineering, under Savitribai Phule Pune University (Formerly University of Pune) and the Faculty of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Savitribai Phule Pune University (Formerly University of Pune). He has also worked as a Chief Coordinator for various Syllabus Revision & Restructuring Committees for BOS, Mechanical Engineering, under Savitribai Phule Pune University (Formerly University of Pune) (For UG/PG Level - 2008 & 2012) and as a Chief Coordinator & Secretary for Post Graduate Conference (MECH PGCON- 2016) for Mechanical Engineering for BOS, Mechanical Engineering, under Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2016 at MIT COE, Pune.

Dr. Lele has served as a Chairman/member for various Faculty Selection Committees (UGC) under Savitribai Phule Pune University (Formerly University of Pune) and has coordinated NBA in various Colleges/Institutions. He has also served as a Chairman/member for various Local Inspection Committees and Flying Squad Committees under Savitribai Phule Pune University (Formerly University of Pune).

Dr. Lele is the Chief Coordinator of MITWPU ISRO Cell and has been the Chief Evaluator & Reviewer for BCUD Project Funding, under Savitribai Phule Pune University (Formerly University of Pune) for the last 8 years. He has also worked as a Project Evaluator for Govt. Funding Agencies like TIFAC, New Delhi, India, and as a reviewer for SCI listed International Journals.

Dr. Lele has worked in collaborations with I.I.T. Bombay, ISRO Bangalore, and is currently serving as an External Examiner for various universities like Shivaji, Solapur & Mumbai, Satyabhama University, Chennai, I.I.T. Bombay, etc., for PG & Ph.D. He has also chaired several Ph.D. Viva-Voce under Savitribai Phule Pune University (Formerly University of Pune) and has given several invited talks at the national level.

In addition to his academic accomplishments, Dr. Lele has also served as the Program Head for MTech (Thermal Engineering) for the last few years and was a member of the Organizing Committee for India’s First Inter-Collegiate Teaching Staff Sports Meet, MITWPU, 24-29 April"
