YUKTI - Innovation Repository
YUKTI – Innovation Repository (NIR) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) Government of India and it is implemented by MoE’s Innovation Cell and AICTE to build a system of repository of ideas, innovations and startups developed in academic institutions and enabling institutions to systematically foster the I&E culture by managing and nurturing these innovations by offering continuous support in terms of one-to-one mentorship, grant assistance, referral and linkage with incubation units, connecting with Angel/Venture Capital (VC) investors network, knowledge agencies, etc.
Basic Eligibility for Yukti Submission
Those who are in academic, current student (regular)/Recently Graduated /Alumni/Faculty /Staff /Entrepreneur at Incubation unit of the IIC-institute/HEI can submit their ideas/Innovations /Business-Model/Startups. The basic eligibility for submission of application is that applicant should have/had association with the institute in any one of the forms as mentioned above. Applicants must upload the copy of document/ID proof of association with the institute while registration. https://yukti.mic.gov.in
Benefits of Innovation
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at MIT-WPU plays a crucial role in implementing the KAPILA scheme by:
- Receive One to One Mentoring Support from HEI to refine and build the application by engaging internal and external mentors empaneled at the HEI
- Opportunity to avail incubation support with financial or grant assistance/schemes available at the institute/incubation unit for working on your innovations/startups.
- Possibility to get linked or referred to incubation centers outside the institute for further incubation support and guidance.
- Chance to get connected with Angel Investors/VC firms for further investment support and guidance.
- Receive facilitation service from the HEI/IPR cell for IP filing, Technology Transfer/Licensing support and guidance.
- Institute can nominate the best proposals to National Innovation Challenge (NIC) of the Ministry of Education (MoE) and (or) similar kinds of programs offered by other various ministries for further handholding and financial assistance.
- Opportunity to get nominated by the HEI to participate in various competitions and programs where HEI is a partner.
- Eligible to be part of various support mechanisms provisioned as in the Innovation and Startup Policy of the institute aligned with the National Innovation and Startup Policy (NISP) of MoE.
Benefits for IIC Institutions
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at MIT-WPU plays a crucial role in implementing the KAPILA scheme by:
- Data entered in YUKTI – NIR will act as input for ARIIA.
- Help HEI in benchmarking Innovation and Startups practices and setting targets by taking it as Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and setting direction and bigger vision for the institute to become innovative and entrepreneurial.
- Support in Planning and effective awareness generation of I & E and engaging them in I&E activities for further strengthening the I&E campus ecosystem.
- Reward and recognition of the HEI at the state, region, and national level and brand building.
- Systematize and channelize innovations and create a pipeline of quality innovations.
- Connect and collaborate with a wide range of ecosystem enablers and agencies.
