Revvity – MIT-WPU Centre of Excellence for Bioimaging Technologies and Innovation

Revvity – the Centre of Excellence for Bioimaging Technologies and Innovation at MIT-WPU is an outcome of an innovative blend between the industry and academia to facilitate research, development, and innovation in the field of bioimaging and bio-photonics. The CoE involves state-of-the-art facilities including equipment such as confocal microscopes, flow cytometers, live animal imaging, microfluidics, gene extraction and advanced imaging software. Researchers of different domains such as life sciences, chemistry, physics, clinicians, pathologists, AI, engineering, and computer science would collaborate on valuable projects dedicated to developing novel imaging techniques and technologies. The centre will also offer training programmes and workshops for students, as well as research professionals, to stay updated about the latest happenings in their respective fields.

This COE along with the advanced labs developed will be pivotal in pre-clinical development for new drug discovery. The entire workflow from target discovery, lead development and preclinical development can be carried out with the advanced equipment in the centre. The centre would facilitate the translation of research findings into practical applications, innovation and technology transfer. Partnership with Revvity and other related industries would enable the centre to leverage resources and expertise for developing cutting-edge imaging technologies and bringing them to market. The research and development work conducted at the centre would primarily focus on addressing the key challenges prevalent in biotechnology, biomedical research and healthcare. Moreover, collaboration with other centres of excellence and research institutions globally would foster the exchange of ideas, sharing of resources, and advancement on a global scale.

The CoE for Bioimaging Technologies and Innovation would play a crucial role in advancing the field of bioimaging, driving innovation, and also in improving our understanding of biological systems including human health. It will foster interdisciplinary collaborations. It will also offer inputs into curriculum, joint research and development projects, consultancy/testing services and industry-oriented skill development programmes.
