Oct 09, 2026
Dr. Shvetank Bhatt, faculty member at the School of Health Sciences & Technology, MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, has been recognised among the World's Top 2% Scientists in the Stanford University–Elsevier list for 2026. This prestigious recognition marks his third consecutive appearance on the list, following his inclusion in 2024 and 2025.
Dr. Bhatt has secured a global rank of 1,049 in the Pharmacology & Pharmacy subfield, under the broader category of Clinical Medicine. His overall global ranking stands at 143,284, highlighting his contributions to neuropharmacology and pharmaceutical research.
His research focuses on understanding the complex mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric disorders, particularly the co-occurrence of depression and anxiety. As these conditions frequently occur together and present significant treatment challenges, his work aims to advance scientific understanding and identify potential therapeutic approaches.
A key aspect of his research involves developing and standardising preclinical models to investigate depression and anxiety occurring together. He also explores neurodegenerative processes and cellular signalling pathways associated with neuropsychiatric disorders, contributing to the identification of potential targets for innovative treatments.
Expressing his gratitude for the recognition, Dr. Bhatt described the achievement as "a great honour and motivation to continue contributing meaningful research."
His inclusion in the Stanford University–Elsevier list for three consecutive years reflects his sustained commitment to scientific research and academic excellence. The achievement also reinforces MIT-WPU's emphasis on fostering a research-driven academic environment that encourages innovation, interdisciplinary exploration, and meaningful contributions to healthcare and pharmaceutical sciences.
MIT-WPU congratulates Dr. Shvetank Bhatt on this remarkable achievement and wishes him continued success in advancing impactful scientific research.
