MIT-WPU, Pune Students Shine Globally at Apple’s Swift Student Challenge 2026

MIT World Peace University, Pune is proud to announce that the iOS Development Centre of the Department of Computer Engineering and Technology (DCET) has earned global recognition at the prestigious Swift Student Challenge 2026, organized by Apple Inc.

A total of 12 apps developed by MIT-WPU students have been selected as winners, with all 12 ranking among the Top 350 globally, and an outstanding 2 apps securing a place in the Top 50 worldwide.

The Swift Student Challenge is a globally renowned competition that celebrates student innovation, creativity, and technical excellence in app development using Swift.

As part of this achievement, the Top 50 winners will receive a fully sponsored opportunity from Apple to attend the WWDC 2026 at Apple Park, Cupertino, California, USA- featuring two winners from MIT-WPU, Pune.

Further adding to this remarkable accomplishment, all winners have received an official certificate from Apple, a one-year individual membership in the Apple Developer Program, and AirPods Max 2.

This achievement reflects the dedication and creativity of our students, the strong mentorship provided by faculty, and MIT-WPU's commitment to fostering innovation and technical excellence. It is a proud moment for the university as it continues to strengthen its presence on the global stage.
