MIT-WPU Engineering Students Experienced Japan Through International Immersion
Jan 24, 2026
Engineering students from MIT World Peace University, Pune, participated in a one-week International Immersion Programme in Japan, organised in collaboration with the International Relations Department, MIT-WPU, Pune. The programme provided first-hand exposure to Japan’s advanced engineering ecosystem by seamlessly integrating academic engagement, industry interaction, and cultural learning.
A key highlight of the immersion was the visit to Factory Innovation Week, Japan’s premier manufacturing expo. Students explored cutting-edge developments in smart factory technologies, robotics, and AI-driven automation, gaining valuable insights into sustainable and green production practices shaping the future of manufacturing.
The immersion also featured visits to leading academic and industry institutions. Students engaged in academic exchange during their visit to the University of Tokyo and experienced advanced robotics applications at Kawasaki Robostage. Complementing the technical exposure, students participated in enriching cultural exchange activities that broadened their global perspectives.
Through such “Learning Beyond Classrooms” initiatives, MIT-WPU, Pune, continues to empower students by bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world global industry standards, preparing future engineers for international professional environments.
