Dr. Ashwin B. Kuchekar

Dr. Ashwin Kuchekar is an accomplished M. Pharm in Pharmaceutics (2009) from R. C. Patel College of Pharmacy, Shirpur, and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics (2015) from Bharati Vidyapeeth Poona College of Pharmacy, Pune. He is also a certified Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) professional and was awarded the Council of Scientific Industrial and Research (CSIR) - Senior Research Fellow (SRF) Award in (2012).

Dr. Kuchekar has over seven years of industrial experience in research and development (R&D) in the area of formulation development using Quality by Design. He has extensive exposure in areas such as branded and generic product development and has worked with leading pharmaceutical companies like Piramal, Lupin, and Abbott Healthcare. He has successfully completed the development and commercial launch of leading brands such as Esgipyrin injection and Orahex-Pro Mouthwash.

Currently, Dr. Kuchekar is a Professor of Pharmaceutics at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT-WPU, Pune, where he also heads the Career Services and Placement division. He has served as a member of the Board of Studies Pharmaceutics, Savitri Phule Pune University, Pune, and a member of the Board of Studies, Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Vishwanath Karad, MIT World Peace University, Pune. He is a Life Member of The Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI).

Dr. Kuchekar's expertise lies in the unique combination of statistics and formulation development. He has hands-on experience in the use of Design of Experiments (DOE) and optimization of formulation and process optimization of products for regulated and domestic products, with software expertise in Design Expert, SAS-JMP, and Statgraphics. He has published several national and international papers and has filed several patents. He is an approved guide for PG and Ph.D. students.
