Bio

Sugeeta Upadhyay is a distinguished economist with a Ph.D. in Economics from Visva Bharati University. She has a robust academic background with a BA and MA in Economics from the same institution. Currently, she serves as a Professor of Economics at MIT-World Peace University, Pune, and has held notable positions such as CEO of the Maharashtra Economic Development Council and Joint Director at the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Her extensive teaching and research experience includes roles at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics and the Institute of Development Studies Kolkata. Additionally, she has served as a researcher at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration and a Gender Specialist at PSU Foundation. Throughout her career, she has contributed significantly to economic research and policy development. She has authored numerous research reports and published papers on higher education and economic policies. Her action research projects, sponsored by prestigious organizations, focus on enhancing India's competitiveness and capacity-building for women entrepreneurs. She has also actively participated in national and international conferences, sharing her insights on regional development and higher education. Her editorial roles and membership on various academic boards further highlight her influence in the field of economics. She is proficient in English, Hindi, and Bengali, adding to her versatility as an academic and professional.
