Mrs. Shubhika Malara

Bio
Shubhika Malara is a passionate Visual Artist, Designer and Educator, with over 5 years of expertise in Communication and Outreach, and a strong interest in sustainability, public spaces, heritage and culture studies. As an Assistant Professor at MIT WPU School of Design in Visual Communication Design, she facilitates courses on Design History, Strategy and Research Methods, Branding, Illustration, Typography and Publication Design. She is a strong advocate of impact-driven design solutions, and attempts to nurture lateral thinking and interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving.
Shubhika holds a M.Des. in Graphic Design from the National Institute of Design (Ahmedabad), and B.Des. in Public Space Design from Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology, (Bengaluru), with an Exchange semester at Massachusetts College of Art and Design (Boston, USA). Highlights of her work include contributing creatives for Science Gallery Bengaluru’s exhibition-season ‘CARBON’ (2024), and designing Art Deco Mumbai’s ‘Map for the Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles of Mumbai - a UNESCO World Heritage Site’ (2019).
