Bio
Dr. Shubhangi Rastogi is an experienced academician and researcher with a background in Microbiology and Industrial Biotechnology. She holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology and a Ph. D. in Microbiology from Panjab University, Chandigarh. With over 2 years of industrial and 1.5 years of research experience, her expertise is in bioprocess: biocatalyst, microbial cultures, 2-G bio-ethanol production, probiotic development, and in-vitro drug development. She teaches bioprocess engineering and industrial biotechnology at the undergraduate level. Dr. Rastogi has been awarded with a DBT-BIRAC E-YUVA scale-up project on bioethanol production in 2022. Dr. Rastogi’s previous research focused on the scale-up of biocatalyst cocktail production and utilization in the biological pretreatment of lignocellulosic residues for bioethanol production. Her present research interests include the scale-up of biocatalysts, specifically ligno-hemicellulases, biological pretreatment of lignocelluloses with a major focus on rice straw, bioethanol production, and development of probiotics and yogurts for exploring gut gut-brain axis.
Research Areas
Bioethanol, Biocatalyst, lignocellulosic residues, probiotics, and yogurts.
