Mr. Sandeep Sampatrao Sathe

Bio

Dr. Sandeep Sathe is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, Pune. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Pune in 2011, followed by a Master’s in Structural Engineering from MIT, Pune in 2013. He was awarded a Ph.D. in 2024, with a specialization in Corrosion in Reinforced Concrete.

His research expertise spans a wide array of domains within Civil and Structural Engineering, including Corrosion in Reinforced Concrete Structures, Fiber Reinforced Concrete, Concrete Durability, Concrete with Admixtures, Lightweight and Pervious Concrete, Bituminous (Flexible) and Rigid Pavements, Recycled Aggregate Concrete, Non- Destructive Testing (NDT), Structural Health Monitoring, Retrofitting of Structures, Ferrocement Technology, Geopolymer Concrete, and Sustainable Construction Materials. With over 15 postgraduate research projects guided to completion and three Ph.D. candidates currently under supervision, he has made a consistent contribution to academic mentorship. His scholarly output includes more than 40 research papers indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and SCI, with 10 appearing in SCIE-indexed international journals. He also holds three patents in the area of Civil and Structural Engineering.

Beyond teaching and research, he plays an active role in academic service. He is a reviewer for more than 10 reputed national and international journals, including several SCI-indexed publications, and serves on editorial boards of multiple international journals. His expertise is frequently sought by universities such as Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University and Savitribai Phule Pune University, where he serves as an external examiner. He is a Life Member of leading professional organizations, including the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), the Institution of Engineers (India), and the International Geosynthetics Society, and also holds Associate Membership in the Institution of Engineers (India).
