In Ph. D. thesis we have designed replacement policies based on number of down times under various sets of assumptions to avoid large financial loss. During the down time of the system, there will be extra expenditure on redundant component, operational cost, salaries to the employees etc. This causes a huge financial loss to the production process in industry. To avoid such big loss below policies may be useful.
