Bio
Renuka is a visual artist & designer invested in the intersections of South Asian art history and visual storytelling. With over 4 years of industry experience, she is interested in exploring design pedagogy with the lens of Indian art practices and decoloniality. Her creative enquiry revolves around reimagining the ways in which art history can inform contemporary art and design thinking. Her independent practice includes analog image making processes such as film photography and cyanotype printmaking.
With a background in Information Arts and Information Design Practices at Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore, she has read History of Art and Archaeology at School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, to navigate research-based creative practice.
Educational Qualifications : MA in History of Art and Archaeology- SOAS, University of London, B.Des in Information Arts and Information Design Practices- Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology, University of Mysore.
Areas of Expertise : Visual Art & Design, Design Thinking, and Indian Art History & Aesthetics.
Teaching Experience : Faculty Member at Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology- 8 months.
Industry / Research Experience : Associate Designer at Jumbotail Technologies, Bangalore, Design Manager at Captain Fresh, Bangalore, Curator at The Film Lab India, Pune.
