Bio

Praful Pawar is a Research Associate at MIT World Peace University, Pune, where he is actively involved in research for the National Legislators Conference (NLC Bharat)—a landmark national platform that has brought together over 2,200 MLAs and MLCs from across political parties in India. His work focuses on the intersection of democracy, leadership, governance, and public policy, while strengthening research and institutional coordination processes.

Alongside his research role, he has been actively engaged in academics and public interaction. He has delivered guest lectures across academic and training programmes, served as a judge for various competitions, and has teaching experience as an Assistant Professor of Sociology. His engagement with students through teaching and mentoring has been a significant and enriching part of his professional journey.

Academically, he has qualified both UGC-NET and MH-SET in Sociology. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from S.P. College, Pune, and a Master’s degree in Sociology from Savitribai Phule Pune University.

During his student years, he was closely associated with the National Service Scheme (NSS), where he undertook leadership roles and participated in initiatives ranging from village-level development work to national-level camps. He has also completed state-level disaster management training under the guidance of NDRF personnel and participated in a 10-day water adventure training programme in Himachal Pradesh during a national NSS camp. In recognition of his contributions to social service, he was awarded the Pune District NSS Best Volunteer Award in 2020. He has also collaborated with multiple NGOs on social initiatives, including extensive COVID-19 awareness and community outreach efforts.

He has presented research papers at several national and international conferences, including the 49th All India Sociological Conference (BML Munjal University, Haryana), the National Conference on Media & Journalism (Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, Pune), and the International Conference on Public Policy (Amity University, Noida). His research explores themes such as digital activism, social movements, and the digital divide with a focus on contemporary socio-political developments in India.

Through his work in research, teaching, and public engagement, Praful Pawar continues to build expertise in governance, sociology, and policy, with a strong commitment to social responsibility and informed democratic participation.
