Dr. Neha Bharti

Bio

Dr. Neha Bharti has completed her doctorate in Journalism & Mass Communication from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. She holds a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, both from Banaras Hindu University. She has qualified the NTA JRF (July 2019) and the UGC NET (July 2018 and December 2018).

Dr. Bharti has worked as an Assistant Professor in the School of Media Studies at Presidency University, Bengaluru. She has also worked as a Research Associate at FLAME University, Pune, where she contributed to the development of a National Digital Literacy Scale. During her time at Banaras Hindu University, she worked with the PRO Office, India Today, and the Aaj Tak Group. She has published research articles and book chapters in reputed journals on topics such as digital privacy, data journalism, cyber laws, big data, consumer behavior, Bollywood’s representation of the LGBTQ+ community, tribal migration, and health communication.

She has presented papers at national and international conferences, including the 2025 AMA Summer Academic Conference in Chicago, as well as seminars at REVA University and Jaipur National University. Her research interests include digital media, marketing communication, consumer behavior, social media advocacy, and interdisciplinary studies in communication technology. She has approximately one year of industry experience and over two years of academic and teaching experience.
