Dr. Mrudula Sanjay Kulkarni

Bio

Department of Civil Engineering since its inception. Prior to this she was the Professor and Head of Department of Structural Engineering at MIT-WPU, Pune till June 2017. She has a PhD in Engineering from College of Engineering Pune, Pune University in the field of Biomechanics under the guidance of Dr. Satish Sathe and Padma Vibhushan Dr. K.H. Sancheti (2003-2007). She has a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, Pune University in 1990, and a Master in Structural Engineering from Government College of Engineering Karad in 1994. She joined MIT as a teaching faculty in 1990 and has since taught various structural mechanics and design subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has been instrumental in setting up MIT CAD CAM CAE Design and Training centre (2000-2008). She is a PhD supervisor, and ten students have since been awarded doctoral degree under her supervision. She was the PI of many funded research projects at international levels and had many academic collaborations with International Universities and Industries for the university. Her specific research xpertise is Biomechanics, Precast Structure, Innovative Designs and Construction Technology. She has worked with various administrative bodies at MIT-WPU as member of the academic council, member of management council and has served in the capacity of elected Senate Member, member Board of studies, member Faculty of Engineering at Pune University.
