Mr. Mrudul Chilmulwar - faculty At MIT-WPU, Pune

Bio

Mrudul Chilmulwar began his journey as a mechanical engineer before discovering that product design was where he truly belonged. He went on to pursue a Master’s in Product Design from the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad.

His work spans creating livelihood opportunities for underserved communities in Delhi for the Somfy Foundation, designing products for people with visual impairments, and developing structural packaging for brands such as Ponds, Lifebuoy, Indulekha, and more. Over the past four years, he has been in academia, where he enjoys helping students frame better questions, think beyond tools, embrace ambiguity, and develop the depth needed to create meaningful design outcomes. He believes design education is less about teaching what to think and more about nurturing how to think. He has also facilitated design thinking workshops for corporate teams, school principals, and university students.

When he isn’t teaching or designing, you’ll likely find him on a frisbee field, playing badminton, experimenting in the kitchen, travelling, or immersed in a good film, book, cartoon, or anime. He enjoys making things with his hands and is endlessly curious about how people think, create, and experience the world around them.
