Bio

Mr. Mohammad Saleem is serving as an Assistant Professor of Law at the School of Law, Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, Pune, India. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in Law from the Vellore Institute of Technology School of Law (VITSOL), Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Cyber Laws from New Law College, Bhartiya Vidyapeeth, Pune. He has completed his LL.M. with Distinction in Constitutional Law from the Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University, and LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow.

An active scholar and researcher, he has authored the book Words of Hate: A Statutory Analysis of Hate Speech in India and has presented numerous research papers at national and international conferences and seminars. His works have been published in reputed national and international journals on diverse areas of law, which extend to well-regarded Scopus-indexed journals and book chapters with internationally reputed publishers. His academic interests primarily lie in Constitutional Law, Comparative Constitutional Law, Human Rights, Civil Liberties, Legal Philosophy, and Legal Reforms, through which he seeks to contribute to the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged sections of society.

His research areas span a wide spectrum, including rights related to women and children, freedom of speech and expression, preventive detention laws, election laws, democracy, and contemporary political developments at both national and international levels.
