Bio
Manjiri Dhawade is associated with the MIT School of Government, where she works in the areas of public policy and governance. Her work focuses on research-driven policy analysis and the development of academic initiatives that bridge theory with real-world policy challenges, particularly in the context of social equity and inclusion.
She has been actively engaged in designing and facilitating academic programmes, workshops, and policy discussions on issues such as human rights and labour, climate change, and democratic governance. Her approach emphasizes critical thinking, evidence-based analysis, and meaningful engagement with contemporary public policy debates, enabling students to better understand complex governance structures and societal challenges.
Manjiri has contributed to academic scholarship through book chapters including “Hate Speech in the Era of social media: Legal Limits and Protection”, “Towards Equitable Access: Public Policy Approaches to Bridging the Digital Divide”, “Critical Study of the Role of Judiciary in Safeguarding the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in India”, and “Integrating Human Rights into National Security Strategy: A Path to Sustainable Peace”. Her work reflects a strong interdisciplinary perspective, integrating insights from public policy, sociology, and development studies. She has presented her research at forums such as the Public Administration Theory Network (PATNet) Annual Conference, the International Conference on Public Policy, and the International Seminar on Fostering Inclusivity and Empowering the Differently Abled. Through her academic engagements, she aims to encourage students to adopt a research-oriented and socially conscious approach to policymaking.
