Bio

Dr. Manali Joshi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at MIT-WPU, Kothrud, Pune. She has over 5+ years of total experience, including 3 years of experience in teaching and 2+ years of experience in industry, which comprises MEPF design, and active involvement in R and D department of a slope erosion control company. She completed her PhD at the Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Symbiosis International (Deemed) University in 2024. She has pursued her M.E. in Environmental Engineering in 2019 from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and B.E. in Civil Engineering in 2016, from L.D. College of Engineering (Gujarat Technological University), Ahmedabad, with a high merit percentage.

Her key research areas include wastewater remediation, water supply and distribution, plumbing and firefighting design, design of STP and ETP, integrated treatment methods primarily novel techniques of photocatalysis, and phytoremediation along with conventional techniques for complete remediation of wastewater targeting the possible reuse, recycle and recovery, zero waste generation, zero liquid discharge technologies especially for industrial wastewater, green building and zero energy building design as per IGBC and USGBC standards. She is a member of the Institute of Engineers (India), Gujarat Institute of Civil Engineers and Architects, and Indian Green Building Council. She is an IGBC Accredited Professional and a Chartered Engineer of IEI. She has published 11 research papers in SCI/Scopus/WoS/ Google Scholar-indexed journals and conferences, and 2 book chapters in SCI/Scopus/Elsevier publications.
