Bio
Prof. Dr. Mahesh Maganlal Makwana is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at MIT WPU, Pune. He completed his master’s in civil-Structures from the College of Engineering Pune and PhD (Structural Engineering) from Maharashtra Institute of Technology Pune. Since joining MIT in 2008, he has taught a range of subjects, including Applied Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Structural Analysis, and Structural Design. He has more than 21 years of teaching and 6 years of industrial experience. Presently he is working as Program coordinator of Civil Smart Infrastructure and construction program, Departmental Budget and Purchase coordinator.
Dr. Makwana's specific areas of interest include Structural Engineering, Precast Concrete, Durability of Concrete, and Structural Health Monitoring. He has published around 17 research papers in international journals and presented 1 research paper at an international conference. He has received Research grant of Rs 13 Lacs from AICTE.
Dr. Makwana guides undergraduate and postgraduate students and is a Member of the Institute of Engineers, as well as a life member of the Indian Society of Structural Engineering and the Indian Society of Technical Education.
