Bio
Dr. Jehath Syed is a clinical pharmacist and researcher currently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at MIT World Peace University, Pune. With specialized expertise in geriatric care, pharmacoepidemiology, and digital health solutions, Dr. Syed integrates evidence-based pharmaceutical care with innovative healthcare technology to optimize patient outcomes.
A Registered Pharmacist with the Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council, Dr. Syed earned her PhD from JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru, focusing on "Implementation and Evaluation of Clinical Pharmacist's Comprehensive Geriatric Care Model." She also holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and is certified as an Age-Friendly Pharmacist by the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
Dr. Syed's professional journey includes experience as Clinical Research Coordinator at JSS Hospital, where she coordinated multiple COVID-19 clinical trials. Her notable contributions include developing EldenCare (a comprehensive geriatric care application in collaboration with L&T Technologies), De-Med webpage for identifying potentially inappropriate medications, and "Dose 4 You" dose calculator.
Dr. Syed has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious international journals. She is an active member of ISPE, ISPOR and Cochrane Collaboration. She also serves as abstract reviewer for international conferences – ICPE, ISPOR, ISOQOL and peer reviewer for journals including American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy and Journal of Medical Internet Research. At MIT-WPU, she coordinates courses in Pharmacy Practice, Pharmacotherapeutics, and Clinical Pharmacy, emphasizing case-based learning and evidence-based practice.
