Bio

Chandrashekhar D Bobade is an Assistant Professor and Research coordinator at the School of Health Science and Technology. He has a total of 10 years of teaching experience and 6 years of research experience. Chandrashekhar secured distinction from his first to final year of B.Pharm and was awarded Sir Ratan Tata's meritorious scholarship from the second year of graduation to the end of post-graduation. He completed his post-graduation education in Pharmaceutics from Shivaji University, Kolhapur in 2008 with the First class and received the best outgoing student of the year award during his masters.

Chandrashekhar has received research grants of 1.20 L from BCUD, Savitribai Phule Pune University, and has experience writing DBT, SERB POWER grants. He has published high impact research in journals like Nanoscale and Nanoscale Advances with impact factor 5 and 7.5, respectively, and has 3 patent applications and 14 oral research and development presentations in international conferences at AIIMS, IIT New Delhi. His research area mainly includes surface modifications of Biomaterials, Chronotherapeutics, and polymeric drug delivery systems.

Chandrashekhar's team has published nanomaterials that support the growth of 3D cells more effectively than traditional 2D cell culture techniques by simulating the ex vivo tissue milieu using multiple components on a glass substrate. Advanced materials with various physico-chemical properties, such as multiwall carbon nanotubes (CNT), graphene (G), bovine serum albumin (BSA), and iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles, were chemically combined to create 3D nanosubstrates.

Chandrashekhar is a passionate advocate of Problem and Project-based learning in his classroom teaching. He is also a columnist for advanced career guidance in pharmacy, National Education Policy 2020, and innovative pedagogy in leading newspapers like Maharashtra Times, Loksatta, etc. Chandrashekhar has delivered invited talks on innovative pedagogy and is actively involved in professional activities for the students' development. He is a lifetime member of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association and Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers in India. Chandrashekhar is voluntarily affiliated with the Indian Pharmaceutical Association Pune branch as Vice President.
