Dr. Apurv Chaitanya Nellikka

Bio

Dr. Apurv Chaitanya Nellikka received his Integrated M.Sc. in Physics from Amrita University in 2012. He qualified for several entrance tests, including JAM, GATE, JEST, PRL (Ahmedabad), IPR (Gandhinagar), and IISc (Bangalore), before joining the Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad, as a Ph.D. scholar in 2012. He earned his Ph.D. in 2016 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar, India. After graduation, he was a postdoctoral investigator at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico, and gained research experience as a guest scientist at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light (Germany), Max Planck – uOttawa Centre for Extreme Quantum Photonics (Canada), and The Institute of Photonic Sciences (Spain). Before taking up his current position at MIT- WPU, he was a research professor at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Puebla, Mexico.

Dr. Nellikka specializes in experimental optics, focusing on light-matter interactions using structured optical beams and quantum optics. His research includes generating and characterizing single photon sources, studying entangled photons, and designing nanoplasmonic devices that exhibit quantum behaviors. Additionally, he explores the generation of exotic light beams with challenging temporal and spatial profiles.
