Dr. Alok Kumar Yadav

Bio

Dr. Alok Kumar Yadav is an Assistant Professor in the School of Business at MIT-WPU, Pune. He has completed Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the area of Economics from the Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai), India. He completed his Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) and master’s degree in the Economics Area. Fundamentally, he believes in a pedagogy where the knowledge cultivated at institutions has to be nurtured in real-world settings. Teaching provides him the opportunity to practice what he has researched, yet at the same time, it helps the students stay updated with the recent advancements in the field of Economics. Thus, it emerges as a win-win situation for all the institute's stakeholders. Importantly, Dr. Yadav would like to develop an innovative teaching approach which may promote progressive critical thinking and create inclusive learning experiences that align with the institution’s academic values. He has published various research papers in highly reputed journals.

He worked as a young professional (Y.P.) at the Agricultural Trade Policy, Promotion, and Logistics Development Division, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Government of India, Central Secretariat, New Delhi. His research interest lies in the International Economics, Macroeconomics, Global Competitiveness, Economics of Commodity Markets, Agri-Business Trade, and Trade Policies. He gained knowledge on India’s agricultural trade policies, the country's views on the Agreement on Agriculture (AOA), domestic support notifications to the WTO, and worked on WTO tariff-rate quota apportionment, competition policy, market access, rules, trade and development trade policy analysis as well analyze regional and international trade issues.
