Bio

Dr. Akshay M. Baheti is a Professor of Pharmacognosy at the School of Health Sciences and Technology, Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, Pune, with over 25 years of experience in teaching, research, and administration in pharmaceutical education. He holds a B.Pharm from North Maharashtra University, M.Pharm in Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry from Savitribai Phule Pune University, and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from JNTU, Hyderabad, and is a Registered Patent Agent (IN/PA 5393). Dr. Baheti has served in key leadership roles as Head of the School of Pharmacy and Head, Department of Pharmacognosy. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed research papers, contributed to multiple book chapters, and has 14 patents filed/granted to his credit. He has guided several M.Pharm dissertations, successfully supervised one Ph.D. scholar to completion, and is currently supervising seven Ph.D. scholars in the areas of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Baheti has been recognized with several awards, including the MIT Foundation Day Award (2014) and the Best Innovative Teacher Award by Savitribai Phule Pune University (2017). He has also received a fellowship in Traditional Medicines and Integrative Health.
