Dr. Ajay Sahu

Bio

Dr. Ajay K. Sahu has completed his doctoral study (Ph.D.) from IIT Kharagpur with special focus on “Characterization of fracture networks from outcrop analogous: A flow simulation approach”. During his doctoral study, He has also carried out collaborative research work in the area of reservoir modelling and fluid flow simulation. He has published research papers in several reputed journals and also presented his works at several national and international conferences. He pursued his post-graduation (M. Tech) in Petroleum Engineering from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad and completed his graduation (B. Tech) in Petroleum Engineering from Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh. His research area of interests includes Fractured Reservoir Simulation and Characterization, Flow in Porous Media, Optimized Filed Development Approaches, Enhanced Oil Recovery: Screening and Application, Matlab in Geoscience, Python for Oil and Gas. Presently, he is teaching basic and applied courses at undergraduate and post graduate. He also mentors students for their research projects. He is also an active professional member of oil and gas scientific societies like; SPE, SEG, ARMA, AAPG and EGU.

His research area of interests includes: Computational techniques for fracture network characterization, Fluid flow in naturally fractured reservoirs, Optimized field development techniques using Petrel-RE, Fractals and Multifractals, Carbon Storage in Fractured reservoirs.
