Bio

Abhijith B serves as an Assistant Professor at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Institute, MIT-WPU. He holds a PhD in Cultural Studies from The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad. His study concentrates on contemporary Malayalam cinema, particularly addressing issues of form, space, and subjectivity. By prioritising the ideology of form as a primary theoretical framework, his work analyses the historical transformations influencing Indian cinema in a broader context. His study examines the intertwining of geography and story as a crucial indicator of cinema's social component in the contemporary era, especially in the absence of concrete social markers under the neoliberal context. His study has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he is presently examining the correlation between contemporary genre forms and the issue of political federalism in Indian cinema.
