Mr. Abhijit Manikrao Bhagat

Bio

Abhijit Bhagat brings over two decades of industry experience, along with more than ten years of shaping young designers in the classroom. He understands the realities of the field, having worked on major projects with Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, and Tata Motors, before going on to establish his own architecture practice.

Teaching, for him, is far more than a side pursuit. He has spent significant time mentoring students at D Y Patil Design School, PDEA College of Architecture, Anantrao Pawar College of Architecture, and Minerva College of Architecture. Rather than limiting himself to textbooks, he works closely with students in the studio—guiding them through design thinking, helping them tackle real-world challenges, and building their confidence for the profession.

Abhijit’s approach moves beyond traditional lectures. He emphasizes hands-on learning and live projects, encouraging students to question, think critically, and explore solutions that are both creative and meaningful. He is deeply committed to helping aspiring designers discover their interests, stay curious, and continuously refine their skills. At the core of his teaching is a focus on creating inclusive spaces where every idea is valued and has the opportunity to grow.

This philosophy aligns seamlessly with MIT-WPU, Pune’s vision.
