SciQuest-Physics Project-Based Learning Competition Showcases Innovation and Scientific Thinking

The Department of First-Year B.Tech, MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, successfully organized SciQuest, a semester-based Project-Based Learning (PBL) Competition, providing students with a platform to transform fundamental concepts of Engineering Physics into practical and innovative solutions.

SciQuest is designed to promote experiential learning by encouraging students to develop and present working models based on key areas of Engineering Physics, including Optics, Wave Physics, Semiconductor Devices, Lasers, Quantum Mechanics, Astrophysics, Energy Systems, and other emerging scientific domains. Several projects also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting the role of science and technology in addressing global sustainability challenges.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from first-year B.Tech students, who showcased innovative ideas and demonstrated the practical applications of scientific principles through interactive models and prototypes. The event provided students with valuable exposure to real-world engineering concepts while fostering analytical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

Through initiatives such as SciQuest, MIT-WPU continues to strengthen its commitment to outcome-based and experiential education, empowering students to become future-ready professionals equipped with scientific temper, critical thinking, and a passion for innovation.
