International Day of Peace - Walk for Peace 2026

MIT World Peace University, Pune observed the International Day of Peace with the Walk for Peace 2026 on 21 September 2026, bringing together approximately 250–300 participants at the campus. The event promoted the values of peace, unity, harmony and collective responsibility through community participation.

The programme commenced with the assembly of participants at Saint Dnyaneshwara Hall, followed by the flag-off of the Walk for Peace. Participants walked through key locations across the MIT-WPU campus before gathering at the Dnyaneshwar Building for a World Peace Prayer, guest felicitation and addresses highlighting the importance of peace and social harmony.

The event featured addresses by Prof. (Dr.) Raviraja N. Seetharam, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, MIT-WPU; Dr. Priyankar Upadhyaya, Senior Advisor, MIT-WPU; and Chief Guest Mr. Ramesh Chaudhary, CMD – MR Surya Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. and Founder - MR Surya Social Foundation.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem, followed by a group photograph and refreshments. The Walk for Peace 2026 brought the MIT-WPU community together in a shared expression of its commitment to peace, unity and social responsibility.
