Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University successfully hosted IGNISIA – a 24-hour National-Level AI Hackathon on 3rd & 4th April 2026, organized by the Department of Polytechnic and Skill Development and the Department of Computer Engineering and Technology.
With the theme Think. Evolve. Build., IGNISIA challenged students to develop AI-driven solutions for real-world problems within just 24 hours. Problem statements across domains like Healthcare, FinTech, Smart Cities, Education, Sustainability, and SME tools were released only 18 hours prior, pushing teams to innovate from scratch.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with 450+ teams and over 1600+ participants registering from various states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Gujarat, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. Participants came from a wide range of institutions, After a rigorous screening process, 78 teams comprising 280 students advanced to the Grand Finale, where they presented innovative solutions across diverse domains.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries. The Chief Guest was Swati Sadineni, Senior Director – Software Engineering, NVIDIA. The Guests of Honor were Aneesh Nathani, VP – Data & AI Service Line, Cybage Software, Sanjay Patwardhan, Cybage Software, and Sarang Kamalakar, Founder & CEO, Parantheses Systems.
