Honouring the Spirit of the Constitution: 77th Republic Day Celebration at MIT-WPU, Pune

MIT-WPU, Pune, marked the 77th Republic Day of India with dignity and patriotic pride, reaffirming its commitment to the values enshrined in the Constitution.

The ceremony commenced with the arrival of the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Major (Dr.) Surendra Poonia, VSM, along with senior university officials, accompanied by a traditional bagpiper troop.

A well-coordinated NCC Flag March, the unfurling of the National Flag, and the soulful rendition of the National Anthem set a solemn and inspiring tone. The celebrations were further enriched by a march by the Student Council and Student Clubs, a vibrant cultural performance, the Student Clubs’ Achievement Exhibition, and the screening of a short film on the Life Transformation Center.

The gathering was addressed by Dr. R. M. Chitnis, Vice Chancellor, MIT-WPU, Pune and Dr. Prasad D. Khandekar, Chief Academic Officer, MIT-WPU, Pune followed by an insightful address by Major (Dr.) Surendra Poonia, VSM, who emphasised discipline, leadership, and service to the nation.

The programme culminated with an address by Dr. Rahul V. Karad, Executive President, MIT-WPU, Pune, who reiterated the university's vision of value-based education, ethical leadership, and world peace. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Pratap Punde, President, Student Council, MIT-WPU, Pune.

The celebration ignited a sense of patriotism and solidarity, ensuring that the ideals of unity and peace continue to resonate across the MIT-WPU, Pune community well beyond the day’s observance.
