Guest Lecture on AI/ML in Drug Discovery and Development and Career Opportunities

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at MIT-WPU, Pune, organised a guest lecture on “AI/ML in Drug Discovery and Development and Career Opportunities” for M. Pharm students and Ph.D. scholars.

The session was coordinated by Dr. Satish Polshettiwar, Associate Professor, and featured Dr. Om Sharma, Head of Bioinformatics, NatIgGs GmbH, Germany, as the speaker.

Dr. Om Sharma provided valuable insights into the integration of computational approaches with modern pharmaceutical and biomedical research. The session explored the growing role of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Bioinformatics in drug discovery and development, while also highlighting emerging career opportunities in these interdisciplinary fields.

The lecture provided students and scholars with an opportunity to understand the evolving intersection of pharmaceutical sciences, AI/ML and bioinformatics, and gain perspectives on the applications of computational approaches in contemporary research.
