Celebrating Womanhood: International Women's Day 2025 at MIT-WPU

The MIT-WPU campus came alive with energy and inspiration as we celebrated International Women's Day on 8 March 2025. The Chanakya Hall in the Saraswati Vishwa Building transformed into a vibrant hub of celebration, where the university's "Sakhis" gathered to honour women's remarkable journeys and invaluable contributions to society. Distinguished guests including Vice-Chancellor Dr. R. M. Chitnis, CAO Dr. Sanjay Kamtekar, and Registrar Dr. Ganesh Pokale graced the occasion, underscoring the importance MIT-WPU places on women's empowerment.

The event featured enlightening speeches by Dr. Shilpa Paygude on Vishakha guidelines and workplace safety and CA Swati Mahanoor on financial literacy for women. A thought-provoking panel discussion led by Dr. Monica Apte, Director of the Centre for Women Studies and Development, provided insights into women's challenges and triumphs in various fields. The day turned out to be a day of empowerment, inspiration, and celebration and everyone resonated with it.

The celebration highlighted how far women have come in their success journey—from breaking barriers in education and leadership to making significant contributions to science, technology, the arts, and governance. The enthusiastic participation of MIT-WPU's women staff reflected the growing strength and solidarity of the female community on campus.

As the event concluded, the spirit of empowerment and sisterhood continued to resonate, inspiring all to continue building a more inclusive and equal world.
