BioConclave 2.0 at MIT-WPU Explores the Future of AI in Healthcare and Bioengineering

MIT-WPU, Pune, successfully hosted BioConclave 2.0, bringing together industry leaders, researchers, academicians, and students to explore the evolving intersection of Artificial Intelligence and bioengineering.

Organised by the Department of Bioengineering, the conclave was centred on the theme “AI in Healthcare, Biomanufacturing & Translational Bioengineering – Bridging Talent, Technology & Industry Needs.” The two-day summit witnessed participation from experts representing leading organisations such as Capgemini, Lupin, Philips, Praj Industries, Reliance Life Sciences, and SKAN Research Trust, along with emerging biotech innovators.

The conclave featured insightful discussions on AI-powered diagnostics, precision medicine, genomics, translational bioengineering, and sustainable biomanufacturing. Experts highlighted how Artificial Intelligence is transforming healthcare and life sciences while also emphasising the importance of strong scientific foundations, ethical responsibility, and human-centred innovation. A key takeaway echoed across sessions was that AI enhances human capability rather than replacing it.

Aligned with Science Foundation Day celebrations, the event also included student research presentations, discussions on bioenergy, a cochlear implant workshop, and a tribute to the legendary physicist C. V. Raman.

Through initiatives like BioConclave 2.0, MIT-WPU continues to strengthen its commitment towards fostering innovation-driven learning ecosystems where young bioengineers engage with real-world challenges, collaborate with industry experts, and contribute meaningfully to the future of healthcare and biotechnology.
